What am I watching?
I’ve recently started to watch Dream Home Makeover on Netflix’s, which is a fantastic series which follows studio McGee founders, as they turn home dreams into a reality. I absolutely love their effortless style and relaxed approach to interior design, they mix different textures and beautiful neutral tones to create the most cozy and timeless interiors. It’s a definite watch for anyone who has a love for interior design.
Who am I following on socials and why?
I’m following a lot of hair and beauty experts recently, due to lockdown I’ve been trying to recreate some spa treatments at home to give myself some much needed ‘me’ time after attempting to home school two children. I also follow a lot of home design accounts on Instagram. My favourite styles to follow are properties which mix new and old architecture to create a unique design which I find very inspiring.
Favourite items for the home?
I live in a period property and recently installed panelling in my Bedroom and it’s transformed the space. I have used wallpaper throughout my house but I wanted something different in my bedroom and I’m so happy with the result. I Would highly recommend anyone to give panelling a go it’s simple to do and looks very effective. It’s a great way to give newer houses some character too. Another favourite item would be my Ferm living wallpaper in my dining room it’s such a lovely feature.
Colours and patterns I love?
I love natural elements and earthy textures combined with brushed metals which produce the most homely and welcoming interiors.
Sources of inspiration?
My main source of inspiration is from my fellow team, I find it so inspiring to watch other designers work and see how they pull their designs together. It’s great to work in a design team where we can all bounce and inspire each other. I’ve been in interiors for 14 years now and it’s lovely to be in a job where every design is different and always learning something new.
