Dedicated Followers of Fashion

Here at Blocc, we love taking inspiration from major fashion events and working this into our interior design projects

The fashion season all across the world is kicked off with the iconic New York Fashion Week at the start of every year. It is this much-loved event which allows designers to showcase and reveal their newest collections and designs.

New York Fashion Week is hailed as one of the ‘big four’ when it comes to fashion weeks across the globe, alongside Paris, London, and Milan. The American event is the first to take place in the season, making it the first chance for buyers, celebrities, and the media to get a glimpse at the upcoming trends. New York Fashion Week doesn’t just bring inspiration for the wardrobe, but the trends and styles showcased can make great inspiration for interior design too.

One collection which really stood out to us from New York Fashion Week 2022 was Proenza Schouler. The designers behind this brand have been doing what they love for nearly 20 years, and it’s clear they know a thing or two about fashion and design. Their latest collection is all about sculpted knitwear and earthy tones and textures, which our designers simply loved.

The range of greys and monochromes, combined with added textures including crochet, feathers and animal prints work effortlessly together, creating an urban style with a twist. These designs and looks can easily be translated into interiors, and we already follow this trend in some of our designs.  We thrive to produce sophisticated, elegant interiors, with contemporary touches which would appeal to a wide cross section of buyers.

When it comes to translating fashion design into interiors, it is all about the space you are designing and whether the trends will suit. Inspiration taken from the Proenza Schouler collection would fit perfectly with apartments with a modern and contemporary vibe. Moving away from traditional styles, and creating something slick, clean, and new. Our vision is that these design elements will work beautifully in a New York loft vibe.

These design elements would work well when interspersed throughout a property. Tying in the style around the entire space, through accessories, abstract artwork, layering, and animal prints. Proenza Schouler design is all about attention to detail, so consider every little aspect of a room, such as embellishments and trims on cushions.

A great example of this, is a project we did for a showhome apartment in Elstree, where the palette features a light neutral backdrop with punches of bold colour in the bespoke artwork and soft furnishings bringing in subtle gold finishes to the furniture and accessories.

A couple of our favourite interior design suppliers that will work perfectly with this kind of style are Elitis and Romo. Elitis offer a range of products which would easily compliment the earthy tones and fit in with the unique textures of this kind of design. Their 2022 Collection features natural finishes and wooden accents, complimented by bold colours. Romo offer a celebration of textures and colours, with many items which would perfectly reflect the animal prints and finishes found in the 2022 Proenza Schouler collection.
